NC Medicaid — Am I Eligible?
North Carolina expanded Medicaid, so many adults who did not qualify before are covered now. Medicaid pays for doctor visits, hospital bills, prescriptions, vision, dental, and mental health care. A single adult earning roughly up to $21,000 a year — or a family of four earning about $44,000 — may qualify. If your income is above the limit, healthcare.gov may offer a low-cost plan instead.

- Apply online at ePASS (epass.nc.gov), by phone, or in person at your county DSS office. Free help with the application is available at most community health centers.
