About Puente de Salud
Puente de Salud means "bridge to health." We built this directory because the help exists. It is just scattered across dozens of websites, county pages, and phone trees.
In North Carolina, thousands of families go without care simply because they do not know a free clinic is fifteen minutes away, that a federal health center must see them regardless of insurance, or that one phone call to 211 can connect them to rent and utility help.
This site puts those resources in one place, in plain language, in English and Spanish. Everything listed is free or low-cost. You do not need insurance, an account, or a computer. A phone is enough.
Who runs this
Agam Pannu and Julian Sloan are high school students at Cary Academy and the co-founders of Puente de Salud. Their work grew out of direct, personal experience. At its core, Puente de Salud is built on the belief that finding care shouldn't depend on which language you speak or how well you know the system. Everyone deserves access that's clear, respectful, and easy to navigate. Puente de Salud is a volunteer-run community project. We are not a clinic, and we do not provide medical advice. We collect public information and keep it organized. Listings are checked periodically, but programs change. Always call ahead to confirm hours and services.

Julian SloanCo-FounderWhen Julian was a kid, his family spent weeks searching for a Spanish-speaking clinic for his great-grandmother. She was living with dementia, and watching his parents scramble to find basic, understandable care for someone they loved so deeply stuck with him. Years later, as he learned more about the massive health and financial barriers Latino families face across North Carolina, the reality hit him: their struggle wasn't an isolated story. It was the everyday norm. That's why Julian cofounded Puente de Salud. He wanted to build the bridge his family never had while making it simple, dignified, and straightforward for people to find the care and resources they need, in the language they actually speak.
Agam PannuCo-FounderAgam started Puente de Salud after volunteering with the UNC School of Nursing Mobile Health Clinic in Cary, in Dorcas, where he helped translate materials into Spanish for flyers for the community. Talking with patients there, he kept hearing the same thing: they knew help existed somewhere, but had no idea where to look, and almost nothing was written in a language they could actually understand. That gap stuck with him. Alongside Julian, he decided to build something that put every free and low-cost health, mental health, and financial resource in North Carolina into one searchable, bilingual place so no one has to guess where to turn.
